What Causes Thunder And Lightning?

Image
Both thunder and lightning are incredible acts of nature that occur across the globe. The loud boom of thunder and the striking light produced by lightning can be seen now and again in our skies when we experience a storm. In this article, we wil hul look at what thunder and lighting are and what their causes are. What causes thunderstorms? A thunderstorm occurs when there is an unstable atmosphere and where cold air meets hot air.The hot air rises, and as it reaches the colder air, it forms water droplets. This process is called convection. Sometimes these water droplets can freeze while moving around. The updraft of hot air can be so quick that it forms cumulonimbus clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds, more commonly known as thunderstorm clouds, are the only types of clouds that can cause hail, thunder, and lighting. A thunderstorm is when a cumulonimbus cloud builds up too much energy. This happens when all the frozen water particles move around the cloud at high speed and bump into each oth...

Cool Facts About Snowflakes Snowflake Facts

CREATE BY - REHAN MALIK  HERE ARE SOME FACT ABOUT ENVIROMENT https://environmensites.blogspot.com/?m=1 Cool Facts About Snowflakes Snowflakes and snow crystals are basically the same, a crystal is one tiny bit of ice, snowflakes are many snow crystals stuck together. Many of us love to see the first piece of snow in the winter, although we wish it would only stop at the one snowflake. Check out the facts about snowflakes below! What exactly are snowflakes? Snowflakes are not frozen raindrops. Frozen raindrops are known as sleet. Snow crystals are formed when water vapor freezes, which all happens up in the clouds. Snowflakes are also formed in the clouds, this happens when water droplets freeze and become ice particles. Water vapor in the cloud assembles on the ice particle, causes it to stretch into a basic hexagonal prism and then to shoot branches to create a more difficult and complex shape, once this has happened snowflakes then change even more to make them un...

Giant Self-Rolling Snow Balls Found In UK Giant Self Rollin Snowball

CREATE BY - REHAN MALIK HERE ARE SOME FACT ABOUT ENVIROMENT https://environmensites.blogspot.com/?m=1 Giant Self-Rolling Snow Balls Found In UK These rare snowballs are formed in snowy weather with a precise combination of snow, ice, temperature, moisture and wind. They are normally found in certain parts of North America. Self-rolling snowballs are also known as: snow bales, snow rollers and snow doughnuts. They get these names from the way that they are formed. January 2010 in the uk was a very snowy one, and this caused these mammoth snow bales to make an appearance in England. Ron Trevett and his wife Aileen were walking their dogs close to their home in Yeovil in Somerset. They managed to photograph these rare natural structures. We saw them from a distance on the ridge of the field, and we thought some kids had been playing up there and making giant snowballs, but when we got up there we saw there were no footprints and there were hundreds of them – too many for ch...

Interesting Facts on Tornadoes Tornado Facts

Image
CREATE BY - REHAN MALIK  Interesting Facts on Tornadoes Each year about a thousand tornadoes touch down on the ground in America, on average 800 more than any other country in the world! In America’s southern states the peak season for tornadoes is most often between March and May, whereas in the north-most states the peak season is late June through August. What is a tornado? A tornado, also known as a twister, is a rotating, funnel-shaped cloud that extends from a large thunderstorm to touch the ground. They are the fastest winds on Earth and can whirl up to 300 miles per hour. These rotating thunderstorms, also known as mesocyclones or supercells, birth tornadoes when a current of cool, moist air from the downdraft of the supercell meets with a current of warm air from the supercell’s updraft. This causes the rotating wall cloud to form and “touch down” on the ground below. Can they be detected before they happen? These mesocyclones are well-defined and easily detectable via...

What Is Cloud Seeding? What is Cloud Seeding?

Image
CREATE BY - REHAN MALIK. What Is Cloud Seeding?   Every year for many across the world, drought is a real problem. It causes serious health risks of dehydration – drought is no laughing matter. Cloud seeding offers a potential solution to this, and the wondrous thing is, it can be used literally worldwide… theoretically. Cloud seeding is process of spreading chemicals like dry ice to forcefully make clouds undergo precipitation to form frozen ice drops that will defrost & become water droplets as they fall. The seeding is done from the earth or more efficiently by plane. The thing about rain is…. As we know, rain itself starts as a liquid not far from freezing, forming ice crystals in the clouds high above, so this process isn’t that far-fetched. The silver iodide, or dry ice, just speed up and expand this sequence generating more and more crystals. Does it work? The issue, and skepticism, with whether this process does indeed work is that it’s carried out on clouds that...

Smoking’s Effect On The Environment [Infographic] Smoking's Effect On The Environment

Image
CREAYE BY - REHAN MALIK Smoking’s Effect On The Environment [Infographic] You’re probably well aware of the effects smoking can have on the human body. So many legislations have made the dangers very clear, from banning smoking indoors to strict advertising rules and even the design and packaging of cigarettes. You might be interested to know however, that smoking also has an effect on the world around you. Second hand smoke isn’t just dangerous if it’s happening right beside you for example. Cigarettes give off two atmosphere polluting chemicals, carbon dioxide and methane. And the culmination of so many smokers releasing these gasses… Well, it all adds up. Land and sea are also in the firing line and the manufacturing process causes a lot of pollution before a single cigarette even reaches the customer. In this infographic, we delve further into the different ways in which smoking has an effect on the environment. It’s probably something you’ve never really thought much about, ...

How Beef Is Worse For The Environment Than Cars The Surprising Comparison Between Beef and Cars

Image
CREATE BY - REHAN MALIK How Beef Is Worse For The Environment Than Cars Enviroment | 5 mins read It’s easy to think the environmental comparison between cars and hamburgers may be silly. When you drive a car, you can easily see the gas fumes drifting up into the sky first hand. However, a beef barbecue on a hot summer day has even greater impact that you probably were unaware of! Let’s take a look at why there’s such a large disparity between beef and Bentleys. Cow farts are toxic! While the negative effects of beef are from the production in its entirety, even just their farts are deadly! According to the United Nations, the combination between cow’s burps and farts account for at least four percent of all greenhouse gas emissions. Why is this? Science tells us that methane, which is in cow burps and farts, is better at trapping heat in the atmosphere than CO2. So while cars may be emitting more CO2 by volume, methane is 23 times more potent, which means cows end up causing more...
